Costing-saving programme

In 2011 the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster City Council started a shared services programme which:

  • saved £40 million a year across the three boroughs by 2015/16
  • cut the number of senior and middle managers by 50 per cent, dramatically reducing the executive pay bill across the three boroughs 

The table below sets out the following information for senior officers employed by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea who, on a full-time equivalent basis, earn more than £50,000 per year:

  • Main purpose of job.
  • Staff managed directly.
  • Budgetary responsibilities.
