About the service

Living a healthy life isn’t always easy and that making any changes can feel challenging or daunting for us all.

The Change4Life service aims to ensure that children, young people and families across Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster are supported to be healthy and happy in the communities where they live, learn and play. The Change4Life service is here to support expectant parents, children and young people aged up to 19 (or 25yrs for young people with special educational needs or disabilities), and their families to eat well and keep active.
 

How to access the service

Please complete this form to register your family's place at one of Change4Life clubs.

The office is on 439 Harrow Road, London W10 4RE, but they deliver sessions in community venues across the Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster.

FAWA is a charity providing information, advice and guidance to BME communities.

 

How to access the service

FAWA offer 2 workshops to provide health messages:

Every first Wednesday of each month (4pm to 6pm)

Every third Friday of each month (4pm to 6pm) of each month

Come and meet others to enjoy each others company around our African traditional hot meals, dancing to old African music.

Futuremen is a multi-award-winning specialist charity that supports boys and men along the path to becoming dynamic future men. Through their practice-led services, Futuremen encourage boys and men to explore, celebrate and build on the seven characteristics that can contribute to positive masculinity.

Futuremen work reaches boys and men experiencing and at risk of social exclusion. They can work with you to reach this group that mainstream services find difficult to engage.

Pinnacle Gym

About the service

Pinnacle Gym is a hospital based gym that provides a supportive and non-competitive environment for you to exercise in. Whether you’re looking to get fit, improve your body tone, lose weight, or you have a medical condition that would benefit from exercise, Pinnacle Gym can cater for your needs. If you are new to gyms, they will help guide you and get you to the point where you are confident exercising independently. The gym is open to the public. There is no joining fee and new member discounts are available.

 

How to access the service

Pinnacle Gym memberships are open to staff (NHS and Imperial College), students (ID required), seniors (over 60) and the general public.

If you are looking to be medically referred to the gym, please contact the gym directly via email to arrange an appointment. Please see contact details below. Referrals are charged the same rate as senior members.

Child Bereavement UK

About the service

Bereavement UK helps families to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. The organisation supports children and young people (up to the age of 25) when someone important to them has died or is not expected to live, as well as parents and the wider family when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying. Child Bereavement UK provides training to professionals in health and social care, education, and the voluntary and corporate sectors, equipping them to provide the best possible care to bereaved families.

About the service

Perinatal and infant mental health specialist health visitors provide support for families experiencing mental health difficulties in the perinatal period offering direct specialist clinical interventions and referring to other services as appropriate.

 

How to access the service

Staff at the Family Hubs, the family's Health Visitor GPs and other members of the health visiting team can make direct referrals.

Local families are often seen at home or at Family Hubs.
