Families and Communities Employment Service (FACES) Kensington and Chelsea

About the service

FACES offers professional and friendly support to help you into work, training or education.

Registered users will receive the following support:

- A team of coaches committed to helping residents find work and develop skills
- Help dealing with barriers to work, such as childcare, housing or benefit advice
- Training and work experience opportunities to build confidence and readiness for work

On your first visit, your Employment Coach will listen to your work history and work out what kind of work, training or education you want to do. They will also ask you about other areas in your life where you need help or want to improve.

They will meet with you at least once a week for up to six months and help you work out your goals. Your coach will meet with you wherever you feel most comfortable – whether that’s at home or in a local café.

About the service

The Single Point of Access is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

The team consists of qualified clinicians who are knowledgeable about different services and options. This helps callers to be directed to the most appropriate service to meet your needs. The team provides advice and guidance through a triage process, where the urgency of care required is assessed. The team also have the ability to make appointments for new referrals to see one of our community mental health teams.

The Single Point of Access works closely, at times of mental health crisis, with NHS crisis resolution teams and partner organisations from across the public and private sectors, to direct you to services most able to aid their recovery.

About the service

James's Place offers free, focused, one-to-one therapy which helps men understand and recover from a suicidal crisis. Men referred typically receive six to eight face-to-face sessions with a trained therapist in a calm and peaceful environment.
