Donations

Help preserve our beloved artists' homes.

Conservation work supported by The Friends, Leighton House. Image courtesy of Jaron James.

Donations of all sizes to The Friends charity are essential to ensure the preservation of Leighton House and Sambourne House and their collections.

Fundamental conservation and maintenance work, acquisitions of lost artworks, the development of our learning and community programmes and the ambitious undertaking of Hidden Gem to National Treasure in improving accessibility would not have been possible without your support.

Your donation could achieve...

  • £50 could get our volunteer gardeners a batch of seeds to use in the replanting of the Leighton House garden, damaged by the construction works
  • £200 would buy all the materials needed to deliver a learning workshop, encouraging young people to engage with art and visit the museums
  • £470 would enable us to buy a paper plan chest for our Learning Centre, in need of a complete fit-out
  • £1,100 would purchase adequate storage and conservation materials needed for the houses'  archive
  • £1,800 would allow us to professionally photograph hundreds of objects uncatalogued at Sambourne House, so that we can provide better access to our collections online
  • £5,500 could helps us acquire historic furniture pieces and decorative objects to recreate the original furnishings of the winter studio and the entrance hall at Leighton House

We understand that your Will is personal to you, so there is no need to inform us of your pledge unless you wish to do so.
