Plan your Visit
Leighton House and Sambourne House are currently closed. We are looking forward to opening our doors later this year and welcoming you all to these two unique artists’ houses, presented like never before.
Leighton House
The major redevelopment project, Hidden Gem to National Treasure, has been transforming Leighton House into an accessible museum with the addition of exciting new spaces, including a new shop, café and a Learning Centre. Greatly improved access to the beautiful historic interiors will help us welcome more visitors and present Leighton's domestic and work spaces even more authentically.
This is an incredibly exciting moment of transformation for Leighton House and all our visitors, who will enjoy a richer experience through additional gallery space, new commissions by contemporary artists and artisans and a dedicated learning centre. Most importantly, Leighton House will be more than ever open for all, as the new wing and the historic spaces will be interconnected and fully accessible thanks to the new lift and a spectacularly decorated helical staircase.
Sambourne House
For the first time, Sambourne House will also be open to the public for general admission all year round. We’ll be offering joint tickets to visit these two special houses for a memorable day out. There is also a major digitisation project underway and hundreds of objects from the museum’s extensive collections are going to be available online soon.
Get ready for the reopening!
We endeavour to announce reopening dates soon so please keep an eye on our website and social media channels for more details and updates. In the meantime, we invite you to explore content online and join our virtual learning programmes.
