The following organisations support children, young people and their families with their mental health, and include specialist support around suicide prevention.

Get Connected

Get Connected is a free, confidential telephone helpline and email service finding young people the best help, whatever the problem. Get Connected provides free connections to local or national services and can text information to callers’ mobile phones.


Samaritans

Samaritans – a 24/7 helpline. Whatever you're going through, you can contact the Samaritans for support. Please note this is a listening service and does not offer advice or intervention. Call: 116 123

Papyrus

Papyrus offers confidential advice and support for young people struggling with suicidal thoughts, as well as family and friends; and information about how to make a safety plan.  

Its helpline service - HOPELINEUK - is available to anybody under the age of 35 experiencing suicidal thoughts, or anybody concerned that a young person could be thinking of suicide.

Mermaids

Mermaids provides a helpline and web chat service for transgender people up to the age of 20, and support for families. Their helpline team also answer queries from professionals involved in their care, such as teachers and social workers. 

The helpline and web chat service offers emotional support, a gateway to the parents and teens forums, information about current legislation and protections under the law, plus signposting to the training and legal departments, as well as resources.

Students Against Depression

Students Against Depression offers information and support for students experiencing suicidal feelings, including a helpful safety plan template. Call: 01635 869754.

Woman and Girls Network's sexual violence helpline

Woman and Girls Network's sexual violence helpline is for women and girls who have experienced sexual violence at any point in their lives. Call: 0808 801 0770.

SurvivorsUK

SurvivorsUK provides a national online helpline, individual and group counselling for boys, men and non-binary people aged 13+ who have experienced sexual violence at any time in their lives. They also offer emotional support through the justice system, support for friends and families of survivors, and training for professionals and organisations.


Insight Kensington and Chelsea

Insight Kensington and Chelsea offers information, advice and help to young people between the ages of 12 and 25 who are living with or affected by drug or alcohol issues.
