The following organisations support children, young people, parents and families when a child or young person dies.

Child Bereavement UK

Child Bereavement UK provides support for anyone who has lost a child, and for children themselves who are bereaved. Email: [email protected].

Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families

Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families is a mental health charity working supporting children and families. They provide general mental health services, but they also have specific support regarding child bereavement.

The Anna Freud Crisis Messenger text service provides free, 24/7 crisis support for young people across the UK. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis and need support, you can text AFC to 85258.

Winston’s Wish

Winston’s Wish is a UK childhood bereavement charity supporting children and their families after the death of a parent or sibling. The Helpline is open to grieving young people, parents, teachers and anyone who is supporting a grieving child. The Helpline can use interpreters if you need to speak in a language other than English, and the Relay UK app if you have hearing or speech difficulties.

'Apart of me' (APP)

'Apart of me' (APP) is designed for young people age 12+ and is a game designed to help cope with the death of a loved one. Based on psychological research, the app provides a safe virtual space.
