Sloane Street

Sloane Street - Frequently asked questions

Here are our responses to some frequently asked questions. However, if you have any further queries please contact us at [email protected].

What will construction work entail?

Works will include replacing all carriageway and footway surface materials, changing the carriageway alignments, upgrading lighting, installing trees and planters and revising parking arrangements. The Council will appoint a Liaison Officer, to act as a single point of contact for residents, retailers and traders whilst the works are underway.

Will Sloane Street remain open to traffic and pedestrians during the works?

Some temporary road closures will be required for certain aspects of the work e.g. construction of traffic calming features and side road entry treatments.  The phasing of the works will ensure that access is maintained for pedestrians at all times.

Will it be noisy?

Construction works will take place in line with RBKC guidelines between 8:00am – 6:00pm on weekdays. Noisy construction work will not be permitted on Sundays and public holidays save for exceptional circumstances.  We are committed to do all we can to minimise noise and disruption. Contractors will commit to giving the utmost consideration to their impact on neighbours and the public.

How will it affect parking?

There may be some localised parking disruption during the works, we will keep residents and businesses informed, but we ask that you also keep a note of any street notices which will advertise any changes.

Will the location of the bus stops change?

The bus stops are remaining in their current location for the southern section of Sloane Street. The plans for the central and northern sections are still being finalised.

Will it affect my refuse collections?

The frequency of collections will not change, however a new location for bags may be required and communicated to you during the periods of construction near to your property.
