Grenfell Recovery Strategy

Public Health

The Council’s Public Health team is also working closely with NHS colleagues to ensure the protection of health for all of those affected by the tragedy.

This work includes the:

  • creation of registers for health monitoring of individuals who are survivors of Grenfell and of emergency services personnel
  • introduction of health effect monitoring for North Kensington residents to ensure early indications of ill-health and subsequent early public health response
  • understanding the public health impacts following the Grenfell tragedy to ensure that the health of those affected is protected and any future prevention is implemented. This involves communicating the health impacts to residents so they can appreciate any health risks involved and understand what is being done to mitigate these
  • introduction of a public health implication assessment to ensure that all aspects of the effects of Grenfell on health are understood and that appropriate advice and information is communicated
  • delivery of a health and wellbeing survey for North Kensington so that health services provided will meet the needs of local residents both now and in the future.
