Qualify at Home

Qualify at Home

Please note that the Qualify at Home service has been temporarily suspended.

Please ensure that you read all the contents of the pages relevant to Qualify at Home. This will ensure that this is a suitable method of study for you, and that you will be able to fulfil your obligations once signed up for the course.

In partnership with Highfield Qualifications, Kensington and Chelsea is offering a new way of learning which will help learners gain a nationally recognised qualification whilst studying at home or at work.

Like our taught qualification courses, the Qualify at Home route will also enable learners to gain qualifications that fall within the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). It consists of three key elements:

  • E-Learning: instantly available, accessible anywhere in the country.
  • E-assessment platform: enables the learner to complete their assessment from anywhere with an internet connection. Successful learners will receive e-certification once the awarding body (Highfield Qualifications) has notified Kensington and Chelsea of the results.
  • Remote online invigilation: at home when convenient for the learner. Highfield’s distance invigilation remotely monitors candidates taking assessments and ensure they meet exam environment requirements. The regulated examinations are conducted under conditions set out by Ofqual.

Qualification courses

This service will enable you to study for , and hopefully pass the examination for one or more regulated qualifications to enable you to received Level 2 or 3 Awards in certain qualifications. This is just as though you were attending a training room taught course, but whilst studying and doing the exam at  home or at work.

In some cases, you will be required to demonstrate a blended learning approach.

Regulated Qualify at Home qualifications for the subjects listed below at Levels 2 or 3 where appropriate:

  • Level 3: eight to 12 hours (depending upon the qualification content)

eAssessment and eInvigilation

Setting:

Candidates selected an isolated area, where they will not be interrupted, to complete their invigilation under the required conditions.

Getting started:

Logging on to Highfield’s  digital invigilation platform with the learner’s unique credentials and centre number (10018), candidates will register by entering their details and ID confirmation.

Exam conditions:

Delegates sitting any assessment will be required to prove they are complying with exam conditions. This requires them to use their smartphone and webcam to film around their environment to show they are in an isolated area with no notes or learning aids. They will then be required to place their smartphone in an area that films them through the completion of their assessment.

The invigilator:

Highfield invigilators evaluate each candidate’s performance and look out for the tell-tale signs of cheating. Our process has been proven to quickly identify any dishonest actions made by the people sitting assessment.

Read the assessment and invigilation FAQs on the Highfield Qualifications website.

Further details about many of the available courses can be found on the Environmental Health Training Service page or the Highfield Learning website.
