The Council aslo consulted last year on its ‘Charter for Public Participation’. The Charter is wider than just planning and is about making it easy for people to get involved in Council decision-making. Further details can be found on the Charter for Public Participation page

At the preliminary consultation stage, a leaflet was prepared to gather people’s views on what should be included. The leaflet below covers these three main areas and details certain public engagement tools which the Council proposes to use.

The current Statement of Community Involvement document titled IPIP is detailed below.

Involving People in Planning (IPIP) is a document that sets out how people can engage with the planning system, including planning applications, planning policy and neighbourhood plans.

The IPIP replaces the previous Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) in Planning which was approved in 2007. The adoption of IPIP took place by a key decision in December 2013.
