New Youth Hubs open their doors

Published: Friday 25 October 2019

The Council's newly relaunched Youth Hubs opened their doors to young Kensington and Chelsea residents this month, giving them the first peek. Each session saw a group of young people explore the spaces, feeding back on what they thought of the renovations and suggesting finishing touches that would make the hubs even better.

On Wednesday 16 October, Chelsea Youth Centre's recording studio, Playstation 4 with huge projector, chill-out spaces and soon to be kitted out gym impressed, but feedback from young people was that there needs to be more lighting outside the space and that they’d like to know more about specific activities as they’re organised.

Young locals visited Lancaster Youth Centre on Monday 21 October and were taken back by the fresh and stylish interior the renovation had created. Sharing stories from their visits to the centre in previous years, groups made their way around the expansive space, discussing what each of the rooms could be used for. The large and accessible rooms meant that everyone was able to explore and enjoy the space in full.

Youth Hubs are part of the Council’s new Youth Offer. EPIC CIC will be providing Youth Club activities on an evening in both hubs, with an action-packed programme to be announced. Rather than sitting empty in the day, spaces in the hubs will be available for groups, resident’s associations and organisations to book for their own use.
