City Living, Local Life is a ward-based programme that supports local organisations and communities to apply for funding to improve their local areas through community-based activities such as events, street parties and improvement projects.
Applications for a funding grant to celebrate the King’s Coronation was opened from 1 March 2023 and closed on the 11 April 2023 through the City Living, Local Life programme. The Council supported 45 applicants accessing licences, venues and funding for communities who wanted to celebrate the Coronation.
A total of £91,149.61 funding has been provided by the council through the programme to help local communities organise street parties and events to celebrate the Coronation spirit across the borough.
£10,000 was made available through the City Living, Local Life programme to organise a live screening at Holland Park, welcoming Londoners and visitors to watch the Coronation ceremony live. The day will also be filled with fun activities such as face painters, jugglers and delicious treats from local businesses.
From street parties to a live screening, find out what’s on this Coronation weekend.
Cllr Sof McVeigh, Lead Member for Communities said:
“Supporting communities has always been at the heart of the Council and through this programme, we were able to support residents and local communities to apply for funding and celebrate this historic event in the borough.”
