The Council has been working with providers from across the borough who provide emotional health and wellbeing support for children and young people in North Kensington – but we want to know how this service can be even better.
A range of projects which were co-produced and created by local community organisations have been on offer for just over two years under the Together 4 Grenfell umbrella.
These projects ensure those who are living in North Kensington and impacted by Grenfell are receiving the support they need. They are funded through the five-year Grenfell Recovery Strategy which was set up to support bereaved, survivors and the local community.
Built around the needs of local residents and ensuring they are culturally appropriate, support has included 1-2-1 counselling, mentoring, peer support, signposting and group wellbeing activities and support. The services are delivered by providers such as Kids on the Green, Latimer Community Art Therapy, Future Men, Place2Be and Catholic Children’s Society, in schools and community based settings.
We know there is still more we need to do and we want to work with the community to help shape any future support. We have worked with the current Together 4 Grenfell providers to develop ideas for future services. We are also speaking to our health and community and voluntary partners.
However we’d love to hear from the young people and their families about the current services on offer, any experiences they may have had, what might need to be improved, what would make them access the services if they don’t already and what they feel could be better provided in the future.
