Kensal Library in North Kensington is set to reopen on Tuesday 19 October, with opening hours confirmed as 1pm to 6pm on Tuesdays and 9.30am to 5pm on Fridays. We know what a well-loved resource Kensal Library is and really appreciate your patience during its closure. Opening hours will be reviewed in the coming months and will increase should there be suitable demand.
The library has remained closed during the application process to find a partner organisation who can operate out of the additional, unused space in the library. This is something the Council has been keen to deliver to provide new, useful resources on residents’ doorsteps while also contributing to the long-term financial prosperity of the library. Great progress was made towards this over the past few months, with invaluable input from local residents that informed which organisations would benefit the local area best, but despite this, we have not yet found a viable partner for this collaboration.
A massive thanks to the local organisations who applied and to local residents who helped us gain a clearer understanding of the wants and needs of the community. We have written to all applicants and residents who helped us during the process as we look to welcome new and adapted applications for a partner to share the space at Kensal Library.
We’ll be providing updates as dates and decisions are confirmed. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact [email protected].
