Continuing the search for a partner at Kensal Library

Published: Monday 1 November 2021

In March this year, the Council began its search for a community partner to share spare capacity at Kensal Library in North Kensington. We knew we could get more out of the library and that the community could benefit from an organisation occupying and delivering services from the currently underutilised rooms on the site. It formed part of our social investment strategy, in which the Council seeks to provide the most it can out of the sites and spaces we own for the benefit of the community, while contributing to their long-term financial prosperity.

Following round-table events with residents and prospective partners, we learned a great deal about what kind of organisation would benefit residents most. Despite efforts, the perfect partner hasn’t yet been found; we want to make sure our decision is the right one and that we reflect the needs of residents while meeting the other necessary criteria for this partnership to be viable.

Continuing the search

We’re keen to continue the search and applications are now open for community organisations and providers to review our updated application pack and consider whether partnering with us could be a suitable move for their organisation. The available rooms and common areas have been refreshed with new carpets and paint, providing the perfect blank canvas for the prospective partner. Why not read through the application pack or watch the Kensal Library tour video to get a feel for what’s on offer through this partnership?
