Did you know there are a number of opportunities to get vaccinated in Kensington and Chelsea over the coming week?
From a pop-up vaccination clinic at Al-Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre and the vaccine bus, which travels around the area, to more regular opportunities at pharmacies and the mass vaccination centre at the Science Museum.
- Vaccine bus, Sloane Square, Friday 27 August
Outside the tube station SW1W 8NS, open 9am to 3pm
Walk-in Pfizer vaccines available to anyone aged 16+. The bus timetable can be found on the RBKC website.
- Al-Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre, Saturday 28 August
244 Acklam Road, W10 5YG, open 10am to 5pm
Over 300 Pfizer vaccinations will be available to anyone aged 16+ - walk in
- The Science Museum, open every day
Exhibition Road, South Kensington, SW7 2DD, open 9am to 7pm
Anyone aged 16+ can walk in. If you’re over 18 you can also book a timed slot on the national booking portal.
- Your local pharmacy
You can get an AstraZeneca (if you are 40+) or Moderna vaccination (if you are 18+) at one of four local pharmacies. Visit the RBKC website for more details.
All vaccination sites offer first and second doses, but you must leave eight weeks in between. You should also take your name and address, and if you can find it, your NHS number, but you can still be vaccinated without.
Cllr Cem Kemahli, Lead Member for Adult Social Care and Public Health for Kensington and Chelsea Council said:
“I want to encourage everyone over 16 to join the 47 million others in the UK who are already vaccinated to protect yourselves, your families and your friends.
“We’re working with community organisations to make getting vaccinated as simple as possible. We’ve already held several successful pop-up vaccine days at Al-Manaar and it’s great to have their support again, with more than 300 vaccines available this Saturday.
“We understand some people still have questions about getting vaccinated, and staff at the vaccination centres will talk through your concerns. There are also lots of short films on the Council’s YouTube channel from different health professionals explaining the benefits and answering the common questions.”
