The second round of consultation into new homes for social rent at the Silchester Arches site in North Kensington has now been launched.
Silchester Arches is one of three proposed sites for ‘Phase Two’ of the Council’s New Homes Delivery Programme (NHDP). The NHDP will see the Council build 600 new homes on land it owns in the borough, with a minimum of 300 available at social rent. The other two proposed sites are Edenham and Barlby.
Following the first round of consultation at Silchester Arches at the end of the last year, we have organised a further two online chat sessions to provide details on how we have incorporated your feedback into the designs for the site.
Thanks to everyone who shared their feedback in the first round of consultation which we have taken on board. You told us that you wanted a design proposal that respects the surrounding buildings in terms of height and scale. The quality of the design was important to you and another key issue was shared outdoor space for residents. We have also taken on board your comments about the importance of air quality given the location of the site.
All the new homes for this site will be for social rent which will help those residents on our housing waiting list.
You can join the online chat sessions to have your say on:
- Thursday 25 March from 5.30pm to 6.30pm
- Saturday 27 March from 10.30am to 11.30am
You can view a new video presentation which gives you details of the latest proposals and shows you how we have adapted the plans on the Silchester Arches web page. We’d encourage you to watch the video before attending one of our online chat sessions or completing the feedback form, however this is not essential.
Please complete the online feedback form to let us know your thoughts. You have until Thursday 29 April 2021, to provide us with your feedback on this round of consultation.
