If you are a member of Kensington and Chelsea libraries, you can borrow and download books, magazines, newspapers, audiobooks, comics and scores for free straight to a dedicated app on your tablet, phone, eBook reader or computer.

Library members can borrow eBooks, eMagazines eAudiobooks, eComics and eScores for free from Libby, by Overdrive. Libby now has a small collection of eBooks in Ukrainian. All you need is your library card membership number and pin or password. In just a few taps, you can start reading or listening instantly on your phone, tablet or computer. 

This digital library is available 24/7 without leaving home and is free from our library. Choose from bestsellers, fiction, nonfiction, books for children, and more. Download the Libby app from the Apple App Store or Google Play to get started. Or, use it in your web browser at libbyapp.com

Borrowbox is now available

BorrowBox lets you access amazing audiobooks 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for free via the BorrowBox app. All your favourite content, at the click of a button. To get started, simply download the app and log in using your library account details.(membership number and PIN). 

Use your phone, tablet, laptop or home computer, library members can now access bestselling titles from chart-topping authors, such as Richard Osman, Lee Child, Matt Haig, Liane Moriarty, Colson Whitehead, Heather Morris and Lynda La Plante, among many more.

BorrowBox is available from the Apple Store and Google Play

Users only need to download the app and log in using their library credentials to get started.

Once you have an account you can borrow and download up to 8 items for up to 3 weeks, reserve a title and get emailed when it is available to borrow.

You will not be able to download eBooks or eComics using a Kensington and Chelsea library computer or any Kindle product except for the Kindle Fire (see Overdrive help pages for Fire tablets).

The Kindle Fire app will not notify you of system updates. To get the latest version, uninstall and reinstall the app on your Kindle Fire.

eMagazines and eNewspapers from PressReader

Read titles like National Post, The Guardian, Washington Post, Vogue, Forbes and much more from all over the world. The new PressReader platform lets you customise your reading experience, gain international perspectives and engage with topics of interest, often online before the print edition.

Using PressReader

• go to the PressReader website or download the PressReader app from your smartphone or tablet’s app store

• click sign in and choose the 'Libraries & Groups' option

• type in ‘Kensington and Chelsea’ and select ‘Library – Kensington & Chelsea’ from the dropdown list

• sign in with your library membership barcode 
• you can also access PressReader on your own device using wifi in our libraries - launch either the app or the PressReader website (no need to login with your library membership barcode and pin).
• library members can access user guides, video tips and more on the PressReader Help Center website

Every 30 days, go to your account, sign out and then back in again with your library card number to reactivate complimentary access for another 30 days. You may reactivate as many times as you wish. If you are asked to pay for PressReader, do not proceed, but go to your account and sign out and then sign back in by selecting your library name and entering your card number.
