Family Fun: Upcycled Buttons @ Leighton House
Actions
Inspired by the exhibition Out Shopping: The Dresses of Marion and Maud Sambourne (1880-1910) we will look at textile embellishments before children create their own upcycled fabric button brooches using recycled materials, colourful fabrics, needles and thread.
Useful information
- The workshop is designed for children of primary school age, 5-10 years old.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult during the workshop (please note, workshops are not drop-off).
- To avoid disappointment, please do not book tickets for younger children and siblings as they will not be able to participate. Additional family members accompanying younger siblings are welcome to enjoy our cafe and garden during the workshop.
- Our Family Fun and Young People workshops take inspiration from Leighton House, the collections and our temporary exhibitions and always include a short tour of the historic house.
- All Family Fun sessions take place in the Learning Centre at Leighton House.
- Accompanying adults (1 adult per child) come for free and admission to the historic house is included.
