Careers Live: TheatreCraft @ the Science Museum
Actions
Step behind the scenes this October half term and learn about technical careers in the theatre industry at Careers Live with TheatreCraft.
Have you ever wondered how many creative minds work behind the scenes to make your favourite musicals and plays come to life?
Join us this half term in Technicians: The David Sainsbury Gallery and learn how technicians help actors soar through the sky on stage or how they create spectacular scenery. Discover how they operate lighting desks, how they generate sound effects and how they control video projection.
You’ll meet lighting, sound and video technicians as well as scenic artists, set builders and automation experts. You’ll have the chance to meet professionals working in stage management, costume, hair and make-up and ask them questions.
TheatreCraft is a non-profit organisation dedicated to inspiring young people about off-stage theatre careers. Their mission is to discover and nurture the next generation of backstage creatives and crew who will shape the future of the theatre industry.
Activities are aimed at young people aged 3-17, however all age groups are welcome.
