Queer in Motion @ the V&A

The V&A is looking for 10 young people aged between 18-26 who are interested in creating queer performance.

Queer in Motion is a free five-day performance course exploring the queering of spaces and collections in the V&A museum. Together with performance artist Luca Bosani and dance artist Malik Nashad Sharpe you will create a unique movement film.

What will I get from the project?

• Learn new performance skills.
• Explore the V&A collection and queer perspectives in the museum. 
• Create a new professional film piece for your portfolio, to be shared on the V&A YouTube channel.
• Collaborate and share practice with other creatives. 

Am I eligible?

• 18-26 years old.
• Live in London.
• Able to commit to attending all sessions.
• Have the legal right to work in the UK and be a UK resident.
• Open to all abilities, but we encourage applications from people with some performance experience.

When will the project take place, and where?

V&A South Kensington on the following dates and times:
Session 1: Monday 12 August – 10.30am-4pm
Session 2: Tuesday 13 August – 10.30am -4pm
Session 3: Wednesday 14 August  – 10.30am  - 4pm
Session 4: Thursday 15 August  – 10.30am -4pm
 Session 5: Friday 16 August – 10.30-4pm

Filming sessions:
Filming session 1: Wednesday 21 August – 6-9pm
Filming session 2: Thursday 22 August 7-10am

Lunch and refreshments will be provided. 
You will be paid for the filming days at London Living Wage (£13.15 per hour).
