Keeping active is important for our overall health, from our muscles, bones, to our emotional health. It can be anything from daily activities such as going up the stairs to dancing to music.

For infants and children, physical activity also includes reducing sedentary behaviours such as prolonged periods of time in car seats, push chairs and sitting down watching TV or playing on a phone (these go hand in hand with reducing screen time).

FREE clubs are available through Change4Life.

For children aged 1-5 years old, aim for at least 180 minutes of physical activity a day. For ideas, please have a look at this image.

Your Family Hub or children centre will have many activities to encourage physical activity.
