Housing - environmental health

Response to question about Housing - environmental health, raise at the Full Council Meeting on 17 October 2018

Housing – environmental health

Question by Patrick Grimley

Patrick Grimley spoke at the Council meeting on 17 October 2018 about fire safety, living conditions and other environmental matters relating to properties in Nevern Place and Square.

The health, safety and welfare of the residents living in the area of Nevern Place and Square is very important to the Council. In relation to progress on issues of fire safety, cramped living conditions and other environmental matters, the Council has been made aware of some housing issues in property in this area. Where we have found issues these have been addressed and where necessary we have taken formal action.

In light of the concerns raised at the meeting, the Council’s Environmental Health team is making arrangements to meet with London and Quadrant Housing Trust to discuss the issues raised about all of their housing stock in Earls Court. We are keen to get an understanding of which properties they own/manage, how they are prioritising the building works needed to these properties, and what the timeframes are.
