Kensington and Chelsea's Amazon Wishlist to support Afghanistan evacuees

The Council has launched an Amazon Wishlist to support Afghanistan evacuees and we are inviting residents and staff to purchase and donate items from this list.

The list is being regularly reviewed and updated as we identify items that are needed.

Items purchased from this list can be delivered directly to the Town Hall and the Council's Refugee Support Team will distribute the items.

How to purchase items for delivery to the Town Hall

  1. Go to Kensington and Chelsea's Amazon Wishlist to support Afghanistan evacuees.
  2. Select the item(s) from the list and add to your basket in the normal way.
  3. Go to checkout and make sure you select 'Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea's Gift Registry Address' as the delivery address for those items only.
  4. Continue to the payment options.
  5. The items will be delivered to Kensington Town Hall. You don’t need to do anything else. Thank you for your generosity!

Charities

There are a number of charities currently trying to help those in Afghanistan and traveling to safer countries.

London Plus are coordinating information for supporting evacuees, working with Voluntary and Community Sector Emergencies Partnership and Kensington and Chelsea Social Council.

Can I drop-off goods to help?

There are not physical donation points in the borough, but care4calais has sites across London.

Donations to charities

The Council has been working in partnership with the local voluntary and community sector to provide support to people in bridging accommodation. Our partners have been able to provide clothing, storage, transport, volunteers, translation services, and immediate support to our new residents. Many organisations will also be providing services to adults and children for the duration of their stay.

All the organisations we’ve been working with are grateful for the support shown by our residents, particularly the amount of physical donations that have been made. Many are already having to turn away donations of physical items because of a shortage of storage space.
