NQT Induction Programme

Ours is a team approach to learning, with teachers and support staff, pupils and parents working together. Our Newly Qualified Teachers will be developed as effective learners within a culture of team working within a family of schools.

Our NQT programme is the result of collaboration and partnership between the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster City Council, and schools across both authorities. This collaboration is growing and developing, and aims to draw on excellent local practice and expertise. We are committed to working in a way that nurtures a strategy of ‘School to School Improvement’ where one school’s outstanding practice systematically benefits the wider family of schools. All schools can demonstrate areas of exceptional practice and particular expertise that other schools can learn from. It is this culture of sharing that will help to sustain excellent standards and secure outcomes for our children and young people into the future.

This year’s Primary NQT CPD programme retains core elements of last year’s highly rated programme with some additional elements. Sessions include 30+ afternoon training sessions, a cross-phase (Primary/EYFS), Pan-London conference together with opportunities to visit and learn from other schools within and beyond Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster.

Where it is relevant, sessions are differentiated according to the phase in which NQTs are currently teaching. To personalise the programme according to individual NQT development needs, all sessions are available either on an individual basis, or as a complete programme with all sessions included. As the programme is a joint one, available to all NQTs in both Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster, with NQTs able to choose (subject to availability) the session that suits their needs best.
