EU Settlement Scheme

EU-EEA and Swiss citizens and their families (including children) who were residing in the UK prior to 31st December 2020 and who successfully applied for pre-settled status are subsequently required to apply for settled status once they have been residing in the UK consistently for more than 5 years.

You should apply through the Home Office website. As part of the ID verification checks you will need to have a smartphone to scan your documents and then continue with the application process online.

If however you do not have access to a smartphone to complete the application for settled status using the Home Office ID verification app, then you can book an appointment at the Kensington and Chelsea Register Office where we are able to complete the ID verification in lieu of the app.

You must complete the ID verification before starting your online application on any type of computer or device after the appointment.  In some instances, you may be required to send your original documents to the Home Office.

Please be aware that applications must also be submitted for children of any age, and parents applying on their behalf are encouraged to link their applications.

Please note: You can not use the ID verification service if you have already started your online application.

Unfortunately, we are not able to assist with the second stage of the application or advise on eligibility requirements.

Full information about the EU Settlement Scheme can be found on the gov.uk website.
