Cluny Mews improvements
The Parks Team have put together a proposed improvement plan for Cluny Mews open space.
The suggested improvements include:
- Retaining the circular York Stone surfacing features but replace the cracked and uneven resin bonded surface with two-tone grey Resin Bound SuDs compliant surfacing.
- Replace the old circular metal seat around the large tree with a new timber seat with back and armrests.
- Replace the rotting timber benches with a new timber bench with back and armrests, on a stone gabion base.
- Remove the thick stone wall to the eastern corner and replace with hedging and shrub planting.
- Install timber bollards alongside Cluny Mews to prevent vehicles parking on the open space.
- Install Corten steel planters with plants for seasonal colour.
- Install railings and hedge to the west of the open space to deter anti-social behaviour.
- Remove the 3 x glass panel features in the west of the open space.
Funding from developments taking place in the local area (known as Section 106) have been allocated to improvements to Cluny Mews, along with some Parks capital funding.
The works will take place in 2024 and ahead of this we would like to hear your thoughts on the proposals that have been put forward.
