About the interim authority notice
You may need to apply for an interim authority notice if you need to take over a licence for someone else.
A premises licence will lapse if the licence holder:
- dies
- is incapacitated
- becomes insolvent
- loses entitlement to work in the UK
You must apply within 28 days to have the license reinstated.
Before you apply
You should read the guidance notes before making the application.
As part of your application, you will need to provide the following:
- Interim Authority Notice application form
- £23 application fee
You can apply and pay online or by post.
How much it costs
The cost of submitting an interim authority notice is £23.
After you have applied for an interim authority notice
The licence is reinstated from the time the licensing authority receive the notice. You must then send a copy of the notice to the police and Home Office within 28 days.
You must apply for a transfer within three months of sending the notice or the licence will lapse again.
