Dustbins

The Council operates a black sack collection service from kerbside properties. We do not supply dustbins to tenants or property owners. If you wish to purchase a bin to contain your waste between collections, it is your responsibility to provide this.

For the health and safety of our collections operatives, bins must be no more than waist height, with a secure lid, e.g. a standard black dust bin.

We do not collect rubbish from wheelie bins due to manual handling regulations. If you do purchase a wheeled bin for storage, it is your responsibility to remove waste from the bin, and present it in securely tied bags on the pavement by 7am on the day of collection (not the night before).

Please ensure any dangerous items such as broken glass, are wrapped up before placing in your waste sacks.
