People living in Kensington and Chelsea are being invited to a conference for residents on Tuesday 21 January 2020 which will set out progress and future plans for joining up enforcement services in the borough.
Residents have told the Council that they would like to see tougher enforcement action and better joint working between the teams enforcing on issues such as fly tipping, anti-social behaviour and engine idling.
The conference will be a chance to find out the progress the Council has made so far, along with future plans to trial new ways of enforcing in the Earl’s Court area alongside the creation of a new warden team which will target ant-social behaviour across the borough.
Attendees will have the opportunity to share their views on how the Council can make the process for reporting environmental issues better for residents.
The information provided will be part of the Council’s customer and resident-focused environmental transformation programme (CREST). CREST initially focussed on building sites, which resulted in a new Construction Management Team being introduced in April 2019. The next stage of the project is to review whether the enforcement and engagement functions that are being delivered on streets, in estates, neighbourhoods and parks could be more joined up to make reporting and enforcing better for residents.
The conference has been set up by the Environmental Select Committee Chairman. Feedback and findings will be raised as part of the next committee meeting on Tuesday 11 February 2020, where members of the Committee will have a further chance to make recommendations and scrutinise this work.
