Take a look behind the scenes to find out more about the history and secrets of the borough’s parks with our recently launched Parks Uncut podcast.
You can hear from staff, Friends groups and contractors about what the parks mean to them and discover fascinating facts about our green spaces.
Did you know:
- We plant over 30,000 bulbs every year
- We grow 45,000 bedding plants per year
- We look after over 90 parks, planters and green spaces
- Eleven of our parks are recognised nationally with a Green Flag award
- Our Bee Superhighway is creating green corridors to link up larger green spaces for all pollinators
How do I listen to the podcast?
You can go to Spotify, Amazon or Buzzsprout to listen and download the podcasts, new episodes are released every Friday.
This week’s episode has two employees from our contractor, idverde, talking about what working in the borough means and how they started their careers.
You can also hear earlier episodes which look at the history of many of our parks across the borough and include appearances from the chair of Friends of Holland Park and the Council staff who oversee the running of the parks across the borough.
