Make this October half-term one to remember
Don’t sit scratching your head about what to do this half-term. With so much going on in and around Kensington and Chelsea, there’s no excuse for boredom!
Escape city life without leaving London at Holland Park
Make your way to Holland Park where not only can you get lost exploring the stunning woods and parkland, you can fill a whole day with fun activities. Have a kick about or play your favourite sport on the large fields, have a game of giant chess or even learn about wildlife and nature in the Ecology Centre. Home to a range of creepy-crawlies and reptiles, the Ecology Centre is a great place to kick off your half term, and their full programme of half-term events can be found on the Council website.
Try something new at The Curve
The Curve Community Centre in North Kensington (10 Bard Road, W10 6TP) is a great place for all ages to try something new, learn useful skills, enrol on a course or just relax with good company. Join The Curve this half term for pizza making, mini-tennis camp, arts and crafts, cooking and more. You can stay up to date with what’s taking place at The Curve and see their full half term programme on the Council’s website.
Have fun come rain or shine with Epic CIC
Epic CIC is all about inspiring children and young people to achieve their full potential. A big part of that is having fun and learning new things! They’ve got everything from canoeing to board games to adventure play, based in locations around the borough. Get lost in a story at the library
Where can you play Lego, read brilliant books with likeminded people your age, play board games or just unwind and get lost in your favourite book? The library of course! We’ve got six top-notch libraries in Kensington and Chelsea, visit today and see what’s on in your nearest location. To find out more about libraries in Kensington and Chelsea, visit the libraries section of the website or follow @RBKCLibraries on Twitter to stay in the loop on the latest library activities.
Party on Friday with One Vibe
It wouldn’t be half-term without a community get-together, and One Vibe is bringing just that to Subterania (12 Acklam Road, W10 5QS) in North Kensington. The event will see top DJs from 1Xtra and beyond host a musical celebration on Friday 25 October from 2.30pm to 7.30pm just for ages 11 to 16. The commemorative day pays tribute to the Grenfell tragedy, with organisations from around the borough collaborating in the name of community unity. Tickets are free and available only from The Curve (10 Bard Road, W10 6TP) and The Harrow Club (187 Freston Road, W10 6TH).
Spread the word!
Think we’ve missed something out? Tell us on Twitter or mention @RBKCYouth in an Instagram post or story. Share your half-term finds from around the borough to make sure other residents don’t miss out.
Have a great half-term!
