Kensington and Chelsea's Leader donned a hard hat and hi-vis jacket for a first-hand look at construction progress for the borough's first school dedicated to supporting children with special educational needs.
Cllr Elizabeth Campbell was joined by Cllr David Lindsay, Lead Member for Families and Children, and Anthony Mannix, Headteacher of the neighbouring Barlby Primary School, for a tour of the site off Barlby Road, North Kensington.
The visit coincided with the Council approving its 2020/21 budget, which includes £36.5 million funding for the new school.
Cllr Campbell said:
"We are proud to be building this dedicated school for children with special educational needs right here in our borough.
"It is a perfect example of how investment and money can go into facilities that create opportunities for young people and give them a brighter future."
The new school is due to open in autumn 2021 and will have capacity for 80 pupils.
