Small businesses in Kensington and Chelsea that are interested in taking on an apprentice, are invited to attend an online event to learn more about how apprenticeships can be accessed and funded in the borough.
Working in collaboration with the London Progression Collaboration (LPC) the Council is hosting the free, online event on Thursday 20 October from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.
Attendees will hear directly from LPC who will share information about taking on a new apprentice or how businesses can support each other by transferring their unused apprenticeship levy funding.
Cllr Josh Rendall, Lead Member for Economy and Employment said: “This event is a great opportunity for our local businesses to learn more about the apprenticeship support available to them. It’s also an opportunity to learn about the incredible value apprentices can offer businesses in return for the opportunity to learn and grow their own skills.”
LPC’s Rob Singh, said: “We’re on a mission to make sure low-paid Londoners can secure better quality, higher paying work and to make sure London’s businesses can develop the skill they need to thrive and grow.”
Local business, Cadogan, will also share their story on how they have supported another business through apprenticeship levy donations, and the benefits and challenges they have experienced with taking on their first apprentice.
Speaking on their apprentice journey, Kate Neale, Head of Sustainability at Cadogan, said: “Both the Council and LPC have been hugely supportive of Cadogan through the whole journey – from helping us understand our options, providing key contacts and advising on how we can move forwards – not to mention helping with the technical details of our digital account!"
