We know that some residents are concerned about work continuing during the Coronavirus pandemic. We want to reassure you that your health and safety remains of paramount importance to us.
As your landlord, we have a legal duty to annually service your gas boiler and carry out an annual gas safety check as well as carry out Electrical Installation Testing as required. It is important that we continue with this work during this time in order to keep you and your home safe. To do this we need your help, by allowing us access to you home when requested.
When we carry out the above essential checks, we can give you an assurance that we will adhere to strict Government guidance on social distancing and handwashing.
You can expect that when carrying out this work:
- We will not send any contractors or engineers from the Council who are feeling unwell or have household members who feel unwell
- We will always confirm if you or anyone in your home is self-isolating or showing any flu-like symptoms of signs of Coronavirus before we send any of our staff. Once you confirm it is safe our engineer will attend the appointment and request that you and anyone else in the property keep a minimum of 2 meters away for the duration of the works required.
- All Council staff and contractors who do enter your home will be clothed in Personal Protective Equipment required for the works and will dispose of it safely after leaving your home.
The above measures aim to keep you, your family, your neighbours and our staff safe so please allow access to your home when requested and let us know if we need to rearrange any appointments.
We are still attending to urgent and emergency repairs in the home, such as water leaks, electrical faults, no heating/not water issues even if you are self-isolating.
Please call the Customer Service centre on 0800 137 111 or Rubi Taylor, 0207 605 6339 if you wish to discuss this further.
