Community meetings following Grenfell Tower Inquiry's phase two report

Published: Wednesday 4 September 2024

Updated: Monday 30 September 2024

Following the release of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry's phase two report, the Council has published a summary of what we think the findings mean for the Council and our relationship with residents.

Following the drop-in sessions and to help us develop our full response in November, we are holding two public meetings in October which are a chance for you to:

  • Hear from the Council’s Leader and Chief Executive about the Council’s failings and the changes since 2017.
  • Tell us whether you have felt those changes, what you think still needs to change and what we should do next.
Date Venue Time
Monday 7 October Morley College (North Kensington Centre) W10 5QQ 6pm to 8pm
Thursday 24 October Notting Hill Methodist Church, Lancaster Road, W11 4AH 6pm to 8pm

These meetings will be the same, you will only need to attend one.

If you would like to attend, please register your interest via Eventbrite or by emailing [email protected]

How will the meetings work?

The meetings will be chaired by the former Bishop of Liverpool James Jones KBE, who was Chair of the Independent Hillsborough Panel.

The Bishop is completely independent of the Council and will make sure as many people as possible to have a chance to speak.

The Leader and the Chief Executive of the Council will be there to speak to the community about the Inquiry’s findings and the changes we have made since 2017.

Most of the meeting will be devoted to questions and answers from residents about the findings and what still needs to change at the Council.

After the meeting, officers will be available to speak to residents who didn’t get a chance to speak or want to raise further issues.

What’s next?

There will be another public meeting on Thursday 7 November where you can hear how your feedback is shaping the Council’s response to the Inquiry report. We will update this page with more details on this nearer the time.

If you want to share feedback or have a one-to-one conversation about the Inquiry report, please contact the team at [email protected]

We are holding specific events for the bereaved and survivors and have contacted them directly about these.
