Managing Allegations
The LSCP has responsibility for ensuring there are clear arrangements for dealing with allegations made against people who work with children.
The Bi-borough Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) has responsibility for overseeing LADO work across RBKC and WCC and management of individual cases. The LADO provides advice and guidance to employers and voluntary organisations, liaises with the police and other agencies and monitors the progress of the case to ensure matters are dealt with thoroughly, fairly and as quickly as possible.
At present this role is being covered on a duty basis. To refer a LADO concern, please see the LADO Managing Allegations page for contact details in the relevant borough. If you require details to include in your policies and procedures it will suffice to demonstrate you know where a referral should be made.
Megan Brown, who is also the Safer Organisations and Safeguarding in Education Manager, is the Local Area Designated Officer for Hammersmith and Fulham. If your organisation is in Hammersmith and Fulham that is the name you may want to include for policies and procedures, and again contact details for referrals are available on the LADO Managing Allegations page.
