Join the library
Anyone can join the library for free. You can join online or in person at any of our libraries - all you need is proof of your permanent address. This can be an international address as well as a UK address.
Online
You can join online and immediately access our wide range of eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, eNewspapers and language courses.
You will then need to provide official proof of your name and address at any of our libraries. We will then change your temporary library membership to a permanent one and you can start borrowing items from our libraries.
In person
You will need to complete an online membership form and provide official proof of your name and address, such as a:
- driving licence
- bank or credit card statement
- utility bill
- tenancy agreement
Library staff are able to help you complete the form. If you are unsure about what documents to bring, ask a member of library staff or email us at [email protected].
Please note: All applications for a library membership for children and young people under the age of 18 require the consent of a parent or guardian.
