Community day hits the spot at World’s End

Residents living on World’s End estate were invited by the Council and its partners to save a few pounds by picking up free nappies, baby milk and bibs. A range of cleaning products, useful household items, personal items, new toys, and pre-loved clothes were also available to take home.

The event held at the World’s End Community event on Thursday 20 June 2024 was a hit with all ages. A bouncy castle provided endless fun for the youngest visitors while free pizza, ice cream and face painting were on the menu for children at the end of the school day.

Council officers were on hand to hear residents’ views and answer questions on a range of topics, including the Council’s currently open consultations. Free blood pressure checks and health advice were available too. While the support and services were greatly appreciated, the highlight for many was the chance to connect with neighbours and revel in community spirit.
