Early help for families

We work with children and families to help them manage emerging difficult circumstances before they develop into more serious issues.

We are a multi-agency service with from professionals from existing council services including:

  • Early Years
  • Family Support
  • School Attendance
  • Youth Support

The type of support we offer includes:

  • parenting skills
  • sleep advisory support
  • activity-based programmes
  • individual advice and support
  • family health and wellbeing

How to access our service

Our service is for families with children up to the age of 19 who are resident in the borough.

You can refer yourself to our services. We also accept referral from professionals who may already be working with you such as your:

  • school
  • health visitor
  • youth service
  • children’s centre

Complete a referral form and return it by:

  • or post to: Early Help for Families Service, 2-4 Malton Road, London W10 5UP

What happens next

What happens next depends on the type of referral you've made.

  • Family support referrals are processed and allocated to an early help practitioner within five working days. Your allocated practitioner will contact to discuss your referral.
  • Targeted play place referrals are forwarded to the Play Service. Contact [email protected] or [email protected] or call 020 7938 8049 to find out your referral outcome.
  • Children centre place referrals are forwarded to the Early Years Service. Contact [email protected] or call 0207 938 8426 to find out your referral outcome.
