Disabled Children's Service
Our services support disabled children and their families. We also help them to access mainstream services.
Our aim is to:
- help disabled children and their families lead normal lives
- support and improve disabled children's health, wellbeing, growth, development and enjoyment

Who we are
The service is made up of teams who work together to provide a holistic service, with each having its own professional focus.
Our teams are:
- Disabled Children’s Team DCT: social workers and social care workers
- Occupational Therapist Team
- Behaviour & Family Support Team: psychologists, speech and language therapist and specialist OT
- Key Workers Team
- St Quintin Centre for Disabled Children and their families: play and activity workers
Who we help
Our services are for children:
- up to the the age of 18 who are resident in the borough
- with a physical or mental disability that substantially and adversely affects their ability to carry out day-to-day activities
These disabilities include:
- physical disabilities
- profound sensory impairment
- chronic and permanent ill health condition
- autistic spectrum disorder with a learning disability
- learning disability
- a serious life limiting or terminal illness
ADHD, Asperger syndrome and mental health problems
Social work teams and local Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services provide services for children with:
- emotional and behavioural problems
- ADHD
- Asperger syndrome
- mental health problems
