We know that crime and anti-social behaviour have devastating affects upon individuals, families, and communities and impacts the health and wellbeing of the whole community.

The Council is aware that anti-social behaviour is a priority concern for residents; in March 2021 residents said it was their top Community Safety priority (57 per cent of survey respondents) and in March 2022, 50 per cent of respondents said it was their priority concern (second highest after drug offences). The Community conversations and surveys showed the range of issues of concern from begging, noisy neighbours to drug related behaviours.

That’s why we want to hear from residents so that the Council and Police can build on the areas that are working best and achieve the best outcomes for those affected by anti-social behaviour.

We would like to hear directly from residents about:

  • What your concerns are about anti-social behaviour
  • What you think the police and Council could/should do about these concerns
  • How can residents play their part in tackling these issues?

Speakers:

  • Senior police officer from the Police Borough Commander Unit
  • Stuart Priestley Community Safety Lead at Kensington and Chelsea Council

Council officer attendees will be on hand to answer:

  • Environmental
  • Licensing
  • Noise and Nuisance Team
  • Housing ASB team

Members of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee will consider the information, which will be anonymised, and use this to develop a report and recommendations to the Leadership Team and police.

It won’t be possible to discuss individual cases or criminal matters at this event.

This event forms part of the Council’s Scrutiny arrangements under the Overview and Scrutiny Committee.

If you’re unable to attend this conference but would like to give feedback on this topic, then please email [email protected] by Wednesday 22 March.
