North Kensington Health and Wellbeing Survey Fair Processing Notice

Purpose of the research

We are conducting the survey as an ongoing commitment to understand residents' health and wellbeing. We want to learn more about what factors affect residents’ wellbeing, and what activities and services they find beneficial. With this information we can look to change services to better suit residents' needs.
Participation

Residents are selected at random each year so not all residents will be invited to take part. If you are contacted and you do not wish to take part in this research, your will be removed from our list, and you will not be re-contacted.

How we collect your information

The survey is being delivered on behalf of the Council’s Public Health Team, by market research company Social and Market Strategic Research (SMSR).

Data is collected on tablets as part of a face-to-face interview or by completing an online form. If you consent to being followed up in 2022 or 2023, you can provide a response to this survey by phone, post, email or face-to-face.

With phone follow-up you will be asked if you consent to your call being recorded for training and monitoring purposes, you can decline. If you accept the recording, the recording will be deleted by SMSR within 24 hours of the call.

What information will we be collecting

We will be collecting information on how residents view their health and wellbeing, lifestyle information such as whether your smoke, the impact of the Grenfell Tower tragedy, and the impact of Covid-19.

We will not ask you to tell us if you have any illnesses or health conditions, but we will ask you how you score your health (1 Excellent to 5 Poor) and to score how you feel your health is now, compared to last year (1 Much better to 5 Much Worse).

To understand if residents’ experiences are different based on age, sex or ethnicity, at the end of the survey we will ask you to provide some demographic information. This includes:

  • Age
  • First language
  • Sex
  • Country of birth
  • Income
