Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny (JHOSC) reports

Update October 2012

The Royal Borough submitted its own response to the consultation by NHS N.W. London (July 2012) on proposals for major changes to the delivery of health services in N.W. London, ”Shaping a Healthier Future in N.W. London”.

However, the Council also teamed up with each of the other N.W. London boroughs and those neighbouring boroughs likely to be affected by the NHS proposals, to form a Joint Health OSC (JHOSC) to scrutinise the proposals.

This JHOSC met in public on five occasions to take evidence between July and October 2012 and presented its final report to NHS N.W. London in October 2012.

Update October 2010

All 33 London Boroughs and Essex County Council came together in February 2009 to form a Joint Health OSC (JHOSC) to respond to consultation proposals from 'Healthcare for London' for significant changes to the delivery of major trauma and stroke services in London.

The JHOSC held six meetings to take evidence from witnesses between February and May 2009 and presented its final report to Healthcare for London in June 2009. A supplementary report contains minutes of the meetings and the written evidence received.

Update October 2009

All 33 London Boroughs and Essex and Surrey County Councils formed a Joint Health OSC (JHOSC) in November 2007 to respond to Healthcare for London’s consultation on strategic proposals to change the way healthcare is delivered in London, based on the proposals set out by Prof. Lord Ara Darzi.

The JHOSC held six meetings between November 2007 and March 2008 to hear evidence from witnesses, and presented its final report to Healthcare for London in April 2008.
