Windrush Exhibition
Windrush Generation: Unsung Heroes
Kensington and Chelsea Council in partnership with Westminster City Council is hosting Windrush Generation: Unsung Heroes, a fascinating exhibition honouring the Windrush legacy.
The Windrush Generation included soldiers, doctors, nurses, teachers, university students, transit workers, artists, politicians, and athletes, who came to London between 1948 and 1970 upon invitation from the British Government to rebuild a nation ravaged by war. Windrush Generation: Unsung Heroes will showcase the personal stories of ordinary people living through extraordinary circumstances. These stories will be accompanied by Windrush era artefacts, and a guest speaker and special events series.
