Action Disability Kensington and Chelsea (ADKC)

About the service

Action Disability Kensington and Chelsea (ADKC) is a user-led disabled people’s organisation and works to enhance opportunities for disabled people (with physical, sensory and hidden impairments), living or working in the borough.

ADKC supports residents through the following services:

Voice of Experience Project

Supporting ADKC members to share their experience to become campaigning leaders.

Volunteer Project

Delivering food, prescriptions and other essentials to isolated local disabled people.

Information and Advice Project

The project assists people with disability related enquiries. Help to fill in forms including Employment Support Allowance, Personal Independence Payment, Taxi card, Freedom pass.

Independent Living and Personal Budgets Project:

This service is for disabled people who need additional support to live an independent life. They offer information, and group support for people who have a social care need, including help with assessments, monitoring and recruiting personal assistants.

Personal Development

This is another part of the Independent Living project - to identify or improve your skills and expand your interests. Supporting you to use your experiences for peer support for other members.

Legal Advice Project

Specialist legal advice on disability-related benefits, discrimination and general casework.

Disability Connection Project

Supporting people to be less isolated. Offering emotional support and the opportunity to explore the activities you would like to participate in.

Access Project

Campaigning to make Kensington and Chelsea a more accessible place for Disabled people.

Young Disabled Leaders Project

Developing the skills and confidence of young disabled people to become more influential.

Availability

Voice of Experience Project: Monday and Thursday.

Volunteer Project: Tuesday between 9.30am and 5pm.

Information and Advice Project: Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 5pm.

Independent Living and Personal Budgets Project: Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 5pm.

Personal Development: Wednesday and Thursday mornings.

Legal Advice Project: Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 5pm.

Disability Connection Project: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday between 9.30am and 5pm.

Access Project: Thursday and Friday afternoon.

Young Disabled Leaders Project: Monday and Friday.
