Neighbourhood planning
Neighbourhood planning
The Localism Act 2011 allows communities to have a say in how their local area develops and grows through preparing neighbourhood plans.
We are working on a number of initiatives with local communities to help them plan for developments that meet their community’s needs.
The Council is home to multiple neighbourhood plans. These form part of the Development Plan for the areas which they cover, and will form the basis for planning decisions in these areas. It is important to note that these neighbourhood plans do have the same status as our Local Plan.
