Cremorne Riverside - Future Facilities

We currently use kayaking as a vehicle for educating young people; not just in directly related areas such as health and fitness, but also topics such as local environment, teamwork and history of the Thames. We feel our location on the river puts us in a unique position to diversify even further and run programs and workshops looking at the ecology of the river, the water cycle, waste treatment, and future technologies including tidal power.

In order to deliver a broader educational programme, we are hoping to revamp our existing facilities and increase our capacity with a floating classroom. This would have direct access to the foreshore, so young people could collect water or soil samples, search for historical artefacts, or study wildlife. The new development would also include a floating boat store, so all equipment would be stored at water level. We are also hoping to include some alternative technologies so young people could see future technology in action.

If you feel as an individual or as part of a group you could use any of the new facilities we are proposing, please tell us, especially if it is in a way we haven’t thought of yet.

If you are interested in becoming a partner organisation, or feel you could help us as an individual, please contact us for more details.
